Physical properties of graphene

Our interests encompass the optical, vibrational and electronic properties of graphene to tackle key problems in graphene physics such as stress/strain, substrate, doping and thermal effects in various forms of graphene (single and few layer). Since graphene is a one atom thick membrane sensitively susceptible to external stimuli our principal strategy is to understand and tune graphene properties by varying an external parameter such as strain/stress, temperature and hydrostatic pressure. Our experimental methods are conventional Raman scattering, Raman scattering combined with scanning probe techniques and optical spectroscopy. We support our experimental findings theoretically using different approaches (see Modeling).
